Fribbles are taking over my house........

but we all love them.  Well almost all of us.  My husband just shakes his head when he sees me sitting on the couch hard at work on another little critter.  They take on their own personality as I make them and they each design themselves as we go.  Had to share some photos of some of my latest friends.  Some are heading out to their new homes, a couple are staying here, three for the Choose Joy Auction and some will be listed in my Etsy shop, FINALLY!!

Fribbles, hats and an auction

Just a quick note tonight.  Been busy working on a custom Fribble order and hats for my kiddos.  Getting ready to do a special order "Pink" Breast Cancer Fribble and 3 special purple Fribbles for the Choose Joy Auction to benefit Ashley of Lil Blue Boo.  You can read more about the auction here.  I will post more information when it gets closer.  Going to try to get better about posting more regularly on here and adding lots more pictures.

It has begun.....

I'm so excited to get my first group of hats ready to send to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.  I have 4 done so far and hope to send a package when I get 25 ready to go.  Then I'll start working on some fun and funky teen type hats for St. Jude's.

Idea, ideas and more ideas

I have so many ideas flying around my brain of things I want to make.  Blankets and hats for Premie babies, unique and fun hats for chemo kids and teens, scarfs and mittens and hats for Main Street Mission.  Still hoping I will find individuals who I can give to and not just organizations but I have a whole year to look for them.  I can't wait to get started.  As soon as Christmas projects are done I will get started.

Something Big is Coming

So last week I turned 29.  Which as soon as I stopped and realized that my next obvious thought was, holy cow I'm almost 30.  I know I'm a little young to be having a mid life crisis but being less than a year from 30 has made me stop and think about what am I doing with my life.  I have made a lot of changes to my life in the last year.  I am a genetics nut and since I didn't go to school for genetics and find a cure for cancer I breed animals.  However last Spring I gave up my dogs to be able to put my hubby and kids first and foremost in my life.  Since then I have been waiting for the next big thing in my life.  I know it's coming and I know it's going to be huge.  While I'm waiting I've been crocheting.  I am hooked, yes pun intended ;) and have decided to give myself a challenge.  I am going to crochet 365 items to give away in 2012.  One for each day of the year, I know duh, right?  So I am excited about this venture and can't wait to see what comes of it beyond this year.  I'm hoping to do lots of hats for chemo kids especially some neat, unique designs for teens.  I'm also going to be putting up BOGO listings in my Etsy shop, Buy One Gift One, to help pay for the materials to make all these nifty items.  If anybody is reading this and knows of a person or child that needs a gift please pass on their information to me, I would love to brighten their day.

A big part of my inspiration has come from Ashley at Lil Blue Boo, if you've never read her blog please take the time to stop over and take a look.  Lil Blue Boo
